We opened our front door at 9am, dressed in our running gear and all inspired to do one of our sprint sessions. However, between leaving our top story and walking down the floor flights of stairs, it had started to bucket with rain. A quick reversal and we were back upstairs for breakfast instead.
Of course the main news of the day was the announcement that Bella and Nic were expecting their third baby in November. We'd known for a while but had to keep quiet about it, waiting for all the tests and scans to be carried out and results checked. Everything was perfect, and a little baby boy will be joining Rosie and Violet in around 6 months' time. We are super-excited. With Bella and Nic spreading the news yesterday, we were given the go-ahead to contact our own friends, and hence were skyping and emailing all the rest of the morning.

At midday we met up with a Swedish and Norwegian couple we have got to know really well. Mats has just become a grandfather for the first time so was first off the mark showing off baby photos!
It was still raining so the rest of the day was given over to more correspondence and a bit of trip planning for July.
Our Irish friend was leaving on Wednesday so we invited her around for apero at 5pm. She lives in Place de l'Eglise, opposite our first apartment. Her husband, who we had met, used to play his music in one of their rooms and the sound would waft across the square to our place. Emer is planning to walk some of the walking track in Dungarvon, between Cork and Dublin. This is where one of my nieces runs a cafe. I emailed Emer one of the photos showing us misbehaving at the outdoor dinner on Sat night - she can provide it as evidence to Suzette that she knows me. Emer arrived with a Swedish friend (whose wife is still in Stockholm) so we had an enjoyable hour's apero and gossip before they left to have a late meal out.
